Never Perform These Operations When Using a Multimeter for the First Time

1. It is prohibited to use the resistance mode, current mode, and capacitance mode of a multimeter to measure voltage.

2. Do not use the resistance range of a multimeter to test live circuits.

3. It is prohibited to use a multimeter to test power filter capacitors or power replenishment capacitors that have just been powered off and have phase discharge. Do not directly connect the "+" and "-" terminals of electrolytic capacitors for short-circuit discharge. If discharge is necessary, a continuous discharge resistor should be added to prevent damage to the capacitor. When discharging the capacitor, insulation pads and qualified insulation gloves with a rating greater than the tested capacitor should be worn to prevent arcing and finger burns during discharge.

4. Exquisite range switch and item switch with a point switching multimeter during the testing process.

5. It is not allowed to use a multimeter for high-voltage testing in the wild during thunderstorms, in order to prevent testing personnel from being struck by lightning.

6. Test wires with poor insulation and cracks on the multimeter panel must not be used. If there are multiple sockets available for testing on the multimeter panel, do not plug them into the wrong position for testing, otherwise serious consequences may occur.

7. Some multimeters have thicker probe ends, which can easily cause short circuits when detecting electronic circuits. At this point, you can use a file to sharpen the tip of the pen. If the tip of the pen is too long, it can be wrapped with insulation tape (or covered with a plastic tube) to expose only the tip of the pen.

8. When the battery clip has poor contact, it can also cause the R * 1 gear to fail to zero. If you find that the elasticity of the battery clip has deteriorated, you can bend the sharp mouthed spring to increase elasticity and reduce contact resistance. The corroded area of the battery clip should be promptly cleaned with a blade or sandpaper.
