What is typical electron microscope magnification?

The magnification of a microscope is the product of the magnification of the eyepiece and the objective lens, which magnifies the length or width of the image. If the magnification of the eyepiece is 10 times and the magnification of the objective lens is 40 times, the magnification of the microscope is ═10×40═400 times.

There are two concepts of total magnification, one is the optical magnification, one is the digital magnification (only when connected to the imaging device will involve digital magnification).

1, optical magnification refers to the magnification of the object we observe from the microscope eyepiece. Optical magnification is calculated in a relatively simple way, that is, the objective lens magnification * eyepiece magnification.

For example, to calculate the magnification of a stereo microscope, the objective lens of a continuous-magnification stereo microscope is usually 0.7-4.5 times, then in the case of a 10 times eyepiece, the total magnification of this microscope is 7-45 times.
Biological microscope, metallurgical microscope is more simple to calculate, the general configuration of the objective lens is 4 times, 10 times, 40 times, 100 times, the eyepieces of the conventional configuration is 10 times, there are 16 times, 20 times, etc., as long as the eyepieces and the objective lens are multiplied by the magnification of the total magnification can be obtained.

2 Digital magnification
Digital magnification refers to the external equipment, the magnification displayed on the image, the current market is more trinocular microscope, through the CCD device connected to a computer, monitor or television for imaging observation, in order to reduce eye fatigue, but also easy to share with others.
