2. Soldering steps of electric soldering iron
For weldments with slightly larger heat capacity, a five-step welding method can be used:
① Preparation: Put the parts to be welded, electric soldering iron, solder wire, soldering iron stand, flux, etc. on the workbench where it is easy to operate. Heat and clean the working surface of the soldering iron tip, and apply a small amount of solder.
② Heating the workpiece to be welded: place the soldering iron tip on the soldering point to heat the soldering point; the working surface of the soldering iron tip is enamelled with solder to speed up the heating rate. If there are more than two components on one solder joint, try to heat the welding parts of all welded parts at the same time.
③ Melting solder: When the solder joint is heated to the working temperature, immediately touch the solder wire to the welding surface of the welded part. The solder wire should be added in the direction of the tip of the soldering iron, but not directly touching the tip of the soldering iron.
④ Remove the solder wire: When the solder wire has melted to an appropriate amount, it should be removed quickly.
⑤ Remove the soldering iron: Remove the soldering iron quickly when the solder joints have been formed but before the flux has evaporated.
For weldments with small heat capacity, the above five-step operation method can be simplified into a three-step operation method:
① Preparation: Hold the preheated, cleaned and tinned electric soldering iron with your right hand, and hold the solder wire close to the tip of the soldering iron with your left hand, as a ready-to-solder posture.
② Simultaneous heating of the welded part and solder wire: Touch the soldering iron and solder wire to the welding point from both sides of the welded part at the same time, so that an appropriate amount of solder melts and fills the welding part.
③ Remove the soldering iron and solder wire at the same time: When the solder joints are formed, remove the soldering iron and solder wire at the same time.
