To avoid possible electric shock or personal injury: If the test lead is not used according to the instructions, the protection function provided by the test lead may be affected or invalid. Before using the test lead, please test it on a known charged power source to ensure that the test lead is in good working condition. When using the voltage tester, even if there is no indication or sound alarm, there may still be voltage. The test lead indicates the effective voltage when there is an electrostatic field of sufficient strength generated by the mains voltage. If the field strength is very weak, the galvanometer cannot detect the presence of voltage. The presence of voltage can be affected by several factors including but not limited to: shielded wire/cable, thickness and type of insulation, distance from voltage source, complete insulation, differences in socket design, etc.
