Thanks for Italy customer's feedback on GVDA GD107 Pen type smart multimeter

•PACKAGING
Comes in a plastic and illustrated box, a GVDA pen multimeter model GD107 and a COM lead. Operating manual
•MATERIALS
With its classic cylindrical shape, this pen tester is compact and easily portable even in your pocket.
The structure is made almost entirely of plastic materials of perceived good quality.
In particular it comes with:
- an integrated "red" tip complete with double protection/safety cap at the base of which we also find a small LED torch useful for illuminating the measurement area;
-3 led indicators for the intensity of the detected signal;
- a backlit LCD display;
- a red button, "on/off" to be held down for about 2 seconds to switch it on or off;
- an "H/torch" button or the usual Hold button to fix the measurement for a useful and comfortable reading and to turn on the small front torch by keeping the button pressed for about 2 seconds;
- a "FUNC" function button: to set the various measurement modes available such as: DC Volt - AC Volt; MΩ and Ω for measuring resistances – Diodes - Hz (frequencies) - nF (capacitors) – Live – PA –Auto which is also the default one by pressing for about 2 seconds;
- a COM port for attaching the only mobile tip available;
- the "black" tip with connection for the COM port complete with protective caps;
- a battery compartment lid closed with a screw.
For battery saving, the device has a default 15-minute auto shut-off without any key operation.
With this CAT III 600V mini tester you will be able to:
-measure AC voltages not exceeding 600 volts;
-carry out all the measurements among those foreseen by setting the appropriate function or, leaving it on "auto" the instrument itself will calibrate itself in "smart/auto" mode on the correct measurement (DC and AC voltage - resistance - continuity), in particular the minimum measurable voltage will be approximately 0.8V, while the resistance if lower than 50Ω will emit a buzzer.
In particular, in Live mode, with the red input terminal in contact with the conductor, if the electric field is weak, "---L" will be displayed with a slow buzzer and green light on, if the electric field signal is strong, instead we will see "- --H” with quick buzzer and red light on.
Another useful function, for professionals and "advanced" do-it-yourselfers, to be completed within 1 minute, is the detection of the phase sequence in three-phase systems, by successively pressing the FUNC key until the symbol "PA", in particular when the "A" flashes, the probe can be inserted into the socket on the first phase line until the "beep", when PAB is displayed with "B" flashing, the probe can be inserted into the second phase line, waiting for the acoustic signal before proceeding and then, when PABC is displayed with “C” flashing, insert the probe into the socket of the third phase line and wait for the long beep. At the end of the test the results will be displayed, namely:
-P---L: indicating a phase sequence on the left;
-P---R: indicating a phase sequence to the right.

• USE
In the hand, although there are no non-slip rubbers, with the exception of the buttons, and protection against bumps or falls, it is well gripped, good quality, solid and resistant plastic materials are perceived. A compact carrying and storage case for the device and the black test lead may be useful.
When switched on, the button and the LED screen light up and the tester starts by default in Auto mode with which it will be possible to carry out the main measurements of AC/DC systems and circuits, in particular voltage, resistance and continuity. Instead, to carry out all the other possible measurements, it will be sufficient to set them with the "FUNC" button.
Obviously this is a small, portable and simple tool, but very effective and with the useful little torch to illuminate the work point.
After switching it on and setting it to "Live" mode, with the red tip of the probe on the conductor, you can carry out the live wire test to identify the phase with display indication "---H", intermittent red light and loud buzzer and hectic.
This multimeter is used as if we had only the two tips in our hands with the display for reading the measurements on one of them, this makes it very practical in uncomfortable measurements such as those in suspension and without the possibility of supporting the instrument, which is essential instead for multimeters of classic rectangular shape.

• CONCLUSIONS
Indispensable for professional electricians or do-it-yourself enthusiasts, to carry out efficiency tests on electrical circuits, search for current leaks or faults in general on the lines or on the various components.
