3 Common Faults of Noise Meter
There will always be noise, whether it be at work or in daily life. Our daily lives and jobs are impacted by noise production. The noise meter is primarily used for noise engineering, quality control, noise measurement, and health prevention and control.
A condenser microphone, a preamplifier, an attenuator, an amplifier, a frequency meter network, and an effective value indicating meter make up the noise meter in most cases. The following issues are typically present in the noise meter's common faults:
1. The display doesn't show anything.
(1) Solder the connection and replace the battery contact piece if the internal battery connection is broken or the battery contact is not good.
(2) If the battery is harmed, replace it.
2. The calibration is less than 94.0dB or the measurement reading is visibly low.
(1) If the microphone's sensitivity is too low or broken, replace it and calibrate the device.
(2) Clean the contacts on the preamplifier if they are not making good contact with the microphone.
(3) If the preamplifier plug's contact with the host socket is poor, the plug socket should be replaced.
3. Tighten the outer sleeve because the reading during the low sound level measurement is too high and the preamplifier's ground wire is not making good contact.
The noise meter is mainly used to measure noise, and the classification of noise measurement mainly includes the following types:
1. From the measurement object, it can be divided into the characteristic measurement of environmental noise (sound field) and the measurement of sound source characteristics.
2. From the time characteristics of the sound source or sound field, it can be divided into steady-state noise measurement and unsteady-state noise measurement. Non-stationary noise can be divided into periodic noise, irregular noise and pulse sound.
3. From the frequency characteristics of the sound source or sound field, it can be divided into broadband noise, narrowband noise and noise containing prominent pure tone components.
4. From the accuracy of measurement requirements, it can be divided into precision measurement, engineering measurement and noise survey.
