5 ways to use the electric pen correctly
Electric test pen, referred to as electric pen for short, is a common tool used to check and measure whether the conductors of low-voltage electrical appliances and the casing of electrical equipment are charged. The voltage on the body passes through the pen tip, neon bulb, safety resistor, spring and the metal body at the end of the pen, and then connects to the ground through the human body to form a circuit. If the voltage between the charged body and the ground exceeds 60 volts, the neon in the test pen Bubbles will glow. Indicates that the measured object has electricity.
When using a test lead. The following items should be noted:
(1) Before using the test pencil, first check whether there is a safety resistor in the test pencil, and then visually check whether the test pencil is damaged, whether it is damp or watered, and whether it is broken, and can only be used after passing the inspection.
(2) When using the test pencil, never touch the metal probe at the front end of the test pencil with your hands. Otherwise, personal electric shock accidents may result.
(3) When using the test pen, be sure to touch the metal part at the end of the test pen with your hands, otherwise, the neon bulb in the test pen will not emit light because the electrified body, the test pen, the human body and the ground do not form a circuit, which will cause errors. It is very dangerous to think that the charged body is not charged.
(4) Before measuring whether the electrical equipment is charged or not, first find a known power source to test, and check whether the neon bulb of the test pen glows normally. It can be used only when it can emit light normally
(5) When testing the charged body under bright light, special attention should be paid to whether the neon bulb is really glowing (or not). If necessary, you can use the other hand to block the light from the outside to observe and judge carefully, so as not to cause misjudgment. Misjudgment that the neon bulb is glowing is not glowing, and misjudging that there is electricity is that there is no electricity.
