1. Pen-shaped soldering iron
This kind of electric soldering iron is generally pointed, and there are two types: adjustable temperature and non-adjustable temperature.
Its characteristics are: cheap price, suitable for soldering plug-in components, non-adjustable pen-shaped electric soldering iron, oxidized with long-term high temperature, and the tip of the tip is no longer tinned.
For the type of LQFP package and TSSOP package, the pointed soldering iron is generally not easy to use, and it cannot be replaced with a knife-edge soldering iron tip, which has great limitations.
It's just the soldering of plug-in components. When performing some simple soldering needs, you can use a harmful electric soldering iron.
2. Pointed soldering iron
Soldering stations are generally temperature-adjustable, and some are equipped with heat guns. The original one is pointed, but due to structural compatibility, it can be replaced with a knife-edged tip.
When using a pointed electric soldering iron, the temperature can be adjusted to about 350 for general electronic components. When the PCBA has a fan-heating design, the temperature can be increased appropriately to ensure that the temperature can melt the tin on the PCBA.
Because the knife edge of the soldering iron tip can be effectively bonded to the pins of the SOP/TSSOP/LQFP package, it will be easier to handle during desoldering.
The structure of the soldering iron
1 Soldering iron head: made of metal (copper) or alloy with high heat transfer characteristics, the function is to transfer the heat generated by the heating core to make the temperature of the head reach or exceed the temperature of melting solder.
2 Jacket: generally made of iron sheet, the function is to fix the electric soldering iron head, the heating core, and the handle to form a whole, and at the same time play a protective role for the heating core.
.3 Handle: generally made of high-temperature plastic, electric wood, wood and other insulating materials, it is the part that is held by the hand.
4 If the soldering iron tip has a fixing screw, it is used to integrate the soldering iron tip with the heating core, so that the heat can be fully transmitted. At the same time, it can be used to adjust the temperature of the electric soldering iron tip.
5 Crimping screw: Its function is to fix the power cord and reduce the stress on the connecting part of the heating core and the power cord.
