About the Application Methods of Infrared Thermometers and Thermal Imagers

According to the different detection functions of infrared temperature detectors and thermal imagers, there are two types of infrared radiometers: infrared temperature detectors and infrared thermal imagers.

1. Infrared thermometer

Infrared thermometer, also known as point thermometer. This is a new type of thermometer that has developed rapidly in recent years, used to measure the temperature of fixed points of objects. It has the advantages of small size, light weight, high sensitivity, fast response, and simple operation, making it very suitable for temperature detection of on-site equipment. Infrared radiation passes through a transmission or reflection optical system and is modulated into alternating radiation. After passing through an infrared detector, it is processed and signal-to-noise ratio is increased by an electronic amplifier. Finally, the temperature of the measured object is given by the indicator. Humidity sensor probe, stainless steel electric heating tube PT100 sensor, cast aluminum heater, heating coil fluid solenoid valve

2. Thermal imager

This is a temperature measurement device that utilizes the thermal radiation characteristics of an object to visualize the temperature distribution in both the plane and space of the object being measured. It is based on an infrared detector and uses optical scanning methods to sequentially scan the entire object space. After conversion, a visible image is obtained on the display, which can display the shape and temperature field distribution of the object. It is very effective to analyze the status of equipment in operation and identify its faults. But at present, the price is expensive and popularity is limited.

Infrared radiation is focused through a scanning lens made of infrared optical materials, and then continuously scanned through a vertical scanning prism and a horizontal scanning prism, instantaneously scanning the entire subject. The infrared beam output from the horizontal prism passes through a relay optical system consisting of optional optical holes and filters, and is ultimately focused on the infrared detector. The detector unit generates an electrical signal output proportional to the radiation from the target. This signal is amplified to generate a video signal, which is sent to the cathode tube display through a connecting cable, displaying adjustable brightness black and white or color images or quantitative thermal images
