Accuracy Classes of Multimeter Meters
There are 7 levels of instrument accuracy, see the table below.
Meter Accuracy Class
Table Accuracy class
Usually 0.1 and 0.2 meters are standard meters; 0.5 to 1.0 meters are used in laboratories; 1.5 to 5.0 are used for electrical engineering measurements.
The accuracy of the measurement results is not only related to the accuracy level of the instrument, but also to its range.
Therefore, the range should be selected so that the reading should account for more than 2/3 of the full scale as much as possible.
A multimeter is a multi-function, multi-range portable electrical instrument. A general multimeter can measure DC current, DC voltage, AC voltage and resistance.
Some multimeters can also measure capacitance, power, transistor common-emitter DC amplification factor hfE, etc.
Therefore, a multimeter is one of the must-have instruments for electricians. Multimeters can be divided into pointer multimeters and digital multimeters.
