How to extend the service life of electric soldering iron
Ordinary electric soldering irons only have one working state, that is, they work according to the rated power under the condition of 220V. However, when used at rated power, it is easy to cause excessive temperature and affect the service life. If the soldering iron core can be rectified by a diode half-wave, the voltage applied to the soldering iron core at this time can be measured with a digital multimeter with a DC voltage block, and the obtained value is about 98V.
Doing so has the following benefits
1. Save electricity and prolong the service life of the soldering iron core and tip;
2 The tip of the soldering iron is not easy to oxidize, saving solder
3. After the diode is stepped down, the temperature of the soldering iron tip is lowered, and it is easier to catch the solder.
S is a small toggle switch, VDI is 1 N4007 diode, suitable for electric soldering irons below 200W, VD2 is a light-emitting diode (3 or 05 can be selected according to the size of the soldering iron handle), R is a 1/4W12 O current-limiting resistor. The above parts can be installed inside the handle of the electric soldering iron.
Take the 6CW electric soldering iron as an example, the S is usually in the "low" position, which can meet the general welding needs. When it is in the required position, it can meet the general welding needs. Toggle, at this time, 220V is directly applied to the soldering iron core, the electric soldering iron works at the rated power, and at the same time \02 emits light through the current limiting resistor to indicate the high temperature.
Increase the function of cutting wire plastic insulation
On the screw that fixes the soldering iron head, use a 0.3mm thick white steel sheet to make a device for cutting the wire insulation. In the hot state of the electric soldering iron, the insulation can be cut off by turning the wire head on the device. In particular, the thinner wire plastic insulation skin and the shielded wire with plastic sheath can be handled with this device with ease.
