Advantages and disadvantages of far infrared thermometer

Advantages of Far Infrared Thermometers
1. Non contact measurement: It does not require contact with the interior or surface of the measured temperature field, so it will not interfere with the state of the measured temperature field, and the thermometer itself is not damaged by the temperature field.

2. Wide measurement range: Due to its non-contact temperature measurement, the thermometer is not located in a high or low temperature field, but works under normal temperature or conditions allowed by the thermometer. In general, it can measure negative tens of degrees to over 3000 degrees.

3. Fast temperature measurement speed: i.e. fast response time. As long as the infrared radiation of the target is received, the temperature can be set in a short period of time.

4. High accuracy: Infrared temperature measurement does not damage the temperature distribution of the object itself like contact temperature measurement, so the measurement accuracy is high.

5. High sensitivity: As long as there is a small change in the temperature of an object, the radiation energy will change significantly, making it easy to measure. Temperature measurement of small temperature fields can be performed.

6. Temperature distribution measurement, as well as temperature measurement of moving or rotating objects. Safe to use and long service life.

Disadvantages of Far Infrared Thermometers
1. It is necessary to accurately determine the emissivity of the object being tested;

2. Avoid the influence of high-temperature objects in the surrounding environment;

3. For transparent materials, the ambient temperature should be lower than the temperature of the object being measured;

4. The thermometer should be vertically aligned with the surface of the object being measured, and under no circumstances should the angle exceed 30 ℃;

5. Cannot be applied for temperature measurement on bright or polished metal surfaces, and cannot be measured through glass;

6. The correct choice of tracking coefficient requires the target diameter to fill the field of view;

7. If the infrared thermometer suddenly experiences an ambient temperature difference of 20 ℃ or higher, the measurement data will be inaccurate. The measured temperature value will be taken after the temperature is balanced.
