Flammable gas detectors belong to measuring instruments subject to mandatory national verification. They are widely used in metallurgy, petroleum, chemical industry, petrochemicals, coal mining, municipal gas systems, warehousing, transportation, hotels, restaurants and fire‑protection departments.
When flammable or toxic gas leaks and its concentration reaches the preset alarm threshold for explosion or poisoning, the detector will trigger an alarm signal to remind staff to take safety measures, so as to prevent explosion, fire and poisoning accidents and ensure safe production.
Under normal service conditions, the sensitivity of the detector sensor naturally declines by 10 %‑30 % per year. If the sensor sensitivity degrades and the instrument fails to alarm when gas concentration reaches the lower explosive limit, explosion hazards will occur. For this reason, flammable gas detectors shall be verified annually to guarantee reliable performance and accurate measured values.
