Appearance structure of clamp ammeter and inspection items of clamp ammeter

The appearance structure diagram and inspection items of clamp ammeter, including appearance inspection, adjustment method of clamp ammeter, matters needing attention when using clamp ammeter, selecting appropriate range and reducing error, etc.

Inspection items of clamp ammeter

① Appearance inspection:
All parts should be intact; Clamp handle operation should be flexible; Jaw core should be free of rust and closed tightly; The insulation sheath of iron core shall be intact; The pointer should be able to swing freely; Gear shift should be flexible and feel obvious.

② Adjustment:
Put the watch flat, the pointer should be at zero, otherwise it should be set to zero.

The clamp ammeter is easy to carry, and it can directly measure the current of electrical equipment in operation without disconnecting the power supply and line, so as to know the working condition of the equipment in time.

Matters needing attention in the use of clamp current

① Before measurement, the measured current should be estimated and the appropriate range should be selected.
If it is impossible to estimate, in order to prevent the clamp ammeter from being damaged, the measurement should start from the maximum range and gradually change the shift position until the range is appropriate. The clamp ammeter should be withdrawn when changing the range.

(2) in order to reduce the error, the measured wire should be located in the center of the jaw as far as possible when measuring.

(3) when measuring, the jaw of the clamp ammeter should be tightly closed. If the pointer shakes, the jaw can be opened and closed again. If the shaking still exists, it should be carefully checked, and the impurities and dirt in the jaw should be removed before measuring.

(4) when measuring small current, in order to make the reading more accurate, when conditions permit, the measured current-carrying wire can be wound several times and put into the jaw for measurement. At this time, the actual current value of the measured wire should be equal to the reading value of the instrument divided by the number of wire turns put into the jaw.

⑤ The voltage of the tested circuit shall not exceed the rated voltage of the clamp ammeter. Clamp ammeter can't measure high voltage electrical equipment.

⑥ Do not turn the change-over switch to shift gears during measurement. Before shifting gears, the current-carrying conductor should be withdrawn from the jaws.

⑦ When the measurement is finished, the range switch should be placed in the highest gear to prevent the instrument from being damaged due to negligence and inaccurate range measurement during the next use.
