Attention should be paid to the following points in calibration of combustible gas detector:

1. In principle, the calibration of combustible gas detector should adopt the standard gas which is certified by measurement and matched with the detected gas.

2. Before checking the combustible gas detector, ensure that there is no combustible gas in the surrounding environment of the combustible gas detector. If there is combustible gas, the rain cover should be removed first, and a certain amount of clean air should be filled before the sample gas is continuously introduced to ensure the accuracy of calibration.

3. When the measured gas is a hydrocarbon mixture, isobutane is the sample gas, followed by propane.

4. For non-hydrocarbon mixtures or hydrocarbon mixtures with different heat generated during the combustion of gases with lower explosive concentration, butane, isobutane, propane and other readily available and stable single-component fuels can be used as sample gas if necessary. At this time, the range of the alarm must be adjusted according to a certain conversion relationship of detection signals.

Common gas detectors include portable gas detectors, four-in-one gas detectors and VOC detectors. When you buy a gas detector, the merchant will basically guide you how to adjust the gas detector, and will also remind you that the gas detector needs to be calibrated regularly. Why?

1. The accuracy of the instrument is an important prerequisite for giving an alarm when the concentration of toxic and harmful gas or combustible gas in the detection environment reaches the preset alarm limit, and the correct and timely alarm is the guarantee for ensuring personnel safety and production safety.

2. The accuracy of the detector mainly depends on the sensor, and the electrochemical sensor and catalytic combustion sensor will gradually change or even be poisoned and fail due to the influence of some substances in the environment during use. Therefore, it is absolutely necessary to calibrate the gas detector regularly.

3. At present, all gas detectors have not got rid of the relative measurement method. Because of this, the instruments need to be maintained and corrected in time, and the accuracy of the results detected by the instruments can only be guaranteed if they are corrected correctly according to the requirements of the manufacturers.

4. In order to ensure that the error of the instrument test results does not exceed the normal range, it is also necessary to correct frequently. Just like our watches, we will often adjust with the standard time to ensure the accuracy of the watch's display time. For the gas detector whose test results are related to the safety of people's lives, accuracy is even more important.
