Basic knowledge of infrared moisture meter

one, definition:
Infrared moisture meter is an online material moisture meter. This product is suitable for measuring the moisture content in flake, powder, and granular products. It can quickly and accurately measure the moisture value of each process point on the production line. It is used in many fields such as metallurgy, mining, military, food, medicine, and chemical have wide application.

Two, working principle:
The infrared moisture meter works on the principle that water molecules absorb infrared light energy of a specific wavelength. A quartz halogen bulb is installed in the probe of the infrared moisture meter, and the light emitted by the lamp passes through the optical system to produce the following two types:
1. Wavelength beam: one is the absorption wavelength, its energy will be strongly absorbed by the water molecules in the required detection substance;

2. It is the reference wavelength. Its characteristic is that its energy is not absorbed by the water molecules in the detection substance, but other factors (such as measurement distance, material color, etc.) have the same influence on it as the absorption wavelength.

The infrared beam irradiates the surface of the material, and then part of it is reflected back. By accurately measuring the energy change of the absorption wavelength before and after the absorption of water in the material, and through the calculation of mathematical functions, an output that has a certain proportional relationship with the water content of the measured material is obtained. Signal.

Three, performance characteristics:
1. Non-contact measurement, which increases the comprehensive anti-interference ability;

2. Sensitive moisture response, fast detection speed, and strong comprehensive anti-interference ability;

3. Special light source system with an effective service life of 50,000 hours;

4. Not affected by environmental water vapor;

5. Not affected by air pollutants (such as dust);

6. Not affected by ambient temperature;

7. Not affected by changes in material height;

8. Not affected by the shape change of the material;

9. Not affected by ambient light on the test results.
