Basic usage of multimeter

There are various types and structures of the multimeter. When using it, only by mastering the correct method can the accuracy of the test results be guaranteed and the safety of the person and equipment can be guaranteed!

(1) Use of jacks and transfer switches

First of all, the position of the jack or switch should be selected according to the purpose of the test. Since the voltage, current and resistance are measured alternately during use, don't forget to change gears. Do not use the gears for measuring current or measuring resistance to discuss voltage. If you use DC current or resistance to measure 220 AC voltage, the multimeter will burn out immediately~

(2) Use of test leads

The multimeter has red pens and black pens, although there are two pens in it, it is also very knowledgeable to use it freely. If the position is reversed or wrongly connected, it may cause test errors or burn out the meter head. sex. Generally, the red test pen is "+", and the black pen is "-".

When inserting the test lead into the multimeter jack, it must be inserted strictly according to the color and positive and negative. When measuring DC voltage or DC current, be sure to pay attention to the positive and negative polarities. When there is no current, the test leads are connected in series with the circuit. When measuring voltage, the test leads are connected in parallel with the circuit. There is no mistake~

(3) How to read correctly

Before using the multimeter, check whether the pointer is on the zero, seven or eight position. If it does not point to the zero position, adjust the mechanical regulator on the cover of the meter to the zero position~

There are multiple scales in the multimeter, you must recognize the corresponding reading scales, you can’t mix AC and DC scales arbitrarily for the sake of saving trouble, and you can’t read them wrong~

The multimeter has multiple ranges for the same measurement item. For example, the DC voltage ranges are 1V, 10V, 15V, 25V, 100V, 500V, etc. The range selection should be around 2/3 of the full scale of the pointer. When measuring resistance, you should point the cloudy finger near the negative value of the center of the file, so as to make the measurement accurate~
