Calibration process of the coating thickness meter

1) Calibration of coating thickness gauge - substrate calibration
Place the instrument securely and snugly on two (only one iron base) substrates for testing. If the test results are both 0, you can directly use a calibration plate for testing, or test the customer's product directly; If the test substrate results have numerical values, press the "ZERO" key to reset to zero before testing the substrate (cannot be placed on the calibration sheet for calibration, otherwise negative numbers will appear). If the test substrate displays 0, it indicates successful calibration. If there are still values, the above zeroing steps can be repeated until the calibration value is 0

2) Calibration piece for coating thickness gauge - calibration/correction
Test calibration sheet, with values within the deviation range, can directly test customer products

Test the calibration sheet, the numerical deviation is significant. Press the "up" and "down" keys to correct the numerical value to the calibration sheet. The above steps can be repeated multiple times for correction until the value is within normal error.

3) Restore the coating thickness gauge to factory settings
When there is an error in the operation and it is unknown whether to correct it, you can hold down the "Upper Left" and "Upper Right" keys at the same time, and an English prompt will appear indicating whether to calibrate. Select "YES" through the up and down keys, then press the "Unit Switch" key to confirm the factory settings are restored, and then follow the calibration steps to calibrate and use it normally.

Calibration requirements for coating thickness gauges
1 Appearance
Requirement: The two surfaces of the thickness sheet should be free of scratches, bumps, and other defects. Calibration method: visual observation.

2 Effective area
Requirement: Uneven surfaces should be marked with circular areas with a radius greater than 5mm, and the area of uniform surface thickness should not be less than 20mm x 20mm. Calibration method: Measure with a steel ruler.

The average of three numbers.
Calibration method: Use a third class measuring block and a vertical optical gauge to measure the thickness of the standard thickness sheet using direct or comparative methods. Before measurement, clean the measuring block, thickness sheet, optical gauge anvil, and measuring head with aviation gasoline. The curvature radius of the measuring cap used during calibration should not be less than 20mm. When the measuring rod is lowered, gently contact the measuring cap with the standard thickness sheet through a fork to prevent impact on the standard thickness sheet. The calibration points are 5 points uniformly distributed within the effective area (including the center point). For standard thickness sheets without effective area markings, the effective area is specified to be within a circle with a radius of no less than 10mm centered on the center.

4 Uniformity error
Requirement: Uniformity error of standard thickness sheets. The calibration method takes the difference between the thickness readings at each point and the average thickness as the uniformity error of the standard thickness sheet, and its value shall not exceed the requirements of Table 2.
