1. Parameter adjustment (resonance) type
For this type of regulated power supply, the basic principle of voltage regulation is LC series resonance, and the regulated power supply containing magnetic saturation regulators that appeared in the early days belongs to this category. It has the advantages of simple structure, less required components, wide voltage regulation range, high reliability, and strong anti-interference and anti-overload capabilities. The disadvantages are high energy consumption, high noise, bulky and high cost.
2. Self-coupling (transformation ratio) adjustment type
(1) Mechanical pressure regulating type
The carbon brush is driven by the servo motor to move on the winding sliding surface of the autotransformer, and the ratio of the output voltage (Vo) to the input voltage (Vi) is changed to realize the adjustment and stabilization of the output voltage of the regulated power supply. It is characterized by simple structure, low cost and small distortion of output waveform. However, due to the sliding of the carbon brushes, the contacts are prone to sparks, causing the brushes to be damaged or even burned out, and the voltage adjustment speed is slow.
(2) Change the tap type
The autotransformer is made into a plurality of fixed taps, and the position of the tap is automatically changed through the relay or thyristor (solid state relay) as the switch control, thereby realizing the stability of the output voltage. This type of regulated power supply has the advantages of simple circuit, wide voltage regulation range (130V-280V), high efficiency (≥95%) and low price. The disadvantage is that the voltage regulation accuracy is low (±8~10%), and the working life is short. It is suitable for powering the air conditioner in the family.
(3) High-power compensation type - purification type voltage stabilizer (including precision voltage stabilizer)
This kind of stabilized power supply uses the compensation link to realize the stability of the output voltage, and it is easy to realize the microcomputer control. Its advantages are good anti-interference performance, high voltage regulation accuracy (≤±1%), fast response (40-60ms), simple circuit and reliable operation. The disadvantage is that there is low-frequency oscillation when non-linear loads such as computers and program-controlled switches are used; the input current is distorted, and the source power factor is low; the output voltage has a phase shift to the input voltage. Due to the advantages of voltage regulation, anti-interference, fast response speed and moderate price, it is widely used.
3. Switching AC stabilized power supply
It is used in high-frequency pulse width modulation technology, and the difference from the general switching power supply is that its output must be an AC voltage with the same upper frequency and same phase as the input terminal. Its output voltage waveform includes quasi-square wave, trapezoidal wave, sine wave and so on. The uninterruptible power supply (UPS) on the market removes the storage power and charger, and it is a switching type AC regulated power supply. The switching type AC stabilized power supply has good voltage stability, strong control function, and is easy to realize intelligentization. It is a very promising AC stabilized power supply. However, due to its complex circuit and high price, the promotion is slow.
