Coating Thickness Gauge Use and Storage Guide
Coating thickness gauge is a professional non-destructive instrument for testing the thickness of various coatings. It is specially used for testing the thickness of various insulating layers such as various magnetic and non-magnetic metal surface paints. Some users use it for a period of time. , it will be found that the test accuracy of the thickness gauge has deteriorated and the measurement is inaccurate. Many users do not know how to take care of the instrument when using it, and throw it everywhere, and do not put it in a special protective box after use. The damage to the instrument is getting more and more serious. Let me talk about some things that need to be paid more attention to when using the coating thickness gauge, so that you know how to effectively care for your coating thickness gauge.
1. The coating thickness gauge is a precision testing instrument. When we test, we always contact the surface of the workpiece through the probe. Therefore, the condition of the probe is closely related to the accuracy of the instrument test. When testing, please do not touch the probe with the surface of the workpiece. Carry out smooth friction to avoid serious wear of the probe after a long time. The correct test is to put the probe in contact with the coating surface vertically. When multi-point testing is required, after measuring one point, the probe needs to be lifted directly, and then the next point is detected vertically.
2. When some users measure, the instrument probe will adhere to some other substances, such as tin beads, tin slag, etc. At this time, do not use a blade to scrape to avoid damage, because use other tools such as brushes to clean it.
3. After the instrument is used, please put it in the protective box at any time to prevent dust and other substances from entering the instrument.
4. The normal temperature probe cannot be used in high temperature places, otherwise the probe is easy to be directly damaged. Please choose a high temperature special probe for high temperature surfaces.
5. Conventional coating thickness gauges do not have waterproof function, so please do not wash the dirty probe directly in water.
6. The coating thickness gauge can be sent to the local measurement and testing institution for calibration every year.
