Common problems and solutions for microscopes

The microscope light bulb does not light up
1. Check if the power cord is loose and if the socket is functioning properly.

2. Check if the fuse is blown (fuses are mostly located at the power interface of the body). If it is blown, replace the fuse.

3. Replace the spare light bulb and be careful not to directly touch the bulb with your fingers during the replacement process.

Microscope unable to focus imaging
1. Check if the focusing limit mechanism is not properly adjusted, resulting in insufficient working distance.

2. Check if the sample is placed upside down. If the cover glass is facing downwards and the working distance at high magnification is not enough.

Clear imaging at low magnification, blurry imaging at high magnification
1. There are higher requirements for sample thickness and flatness under high magnification.

2. For biological 100x lenses, pay attention to whether there is any oil dripping and whether the objective lens is clean.

3. When switching to a high-power lens, the aperture aperture on the spotlight is correspondingly enlarged.

Bright and uneven field of view
Check if the optical path is aligned before using the microscope.

The light bulb is lit, but when viewed through the eyepiece, it appears completely black
1. Check if the objective lens is turned into the optical path, if the field of view and aperture apertures are adjusted too small, and if the optical path is aligned.

2. Check if the three head eyepiece and video switching lever are in the video position.

Dim field of vision brightness
1. Are the field of view and aperture apertures adjusted too small.

2. Whether the optical path is properly adjusted (condenser, aperture, filament).

3. Have polarizing and phase difference components been used.

7, Black edges appear in the field of view of the eyepiece

1. Check if the field of view aperture is too small;

2. Is the optical path aligned (focusing mirror, aperture, filament);

3. Whether the objective lens turntable is in place;

4. Is the alignment between the eyepiece tube and the body accurate.

8, Synchronicity issue, when observing with a camera, the eyepiece is clear, but the computer displays blurry images
1. Adjust the height of the interface or interface lens to achieve synchronization.

2. Attempt to adjust the refractive index of the eyepiece when the adjustment interface cannot be fully synchronized
