1. Classification method

2. Types of electric soldering irons
(1) Internally heated electric soldering iron
The iron core of an internally heated electric soldering iron is installed inside the soldering iron head. The iron core is made of nickel chromium resistance wire wrapped around a ceramic tube, which has the advantages of fast heating, high thermal efficiency, low price, light weight, small size, fast heating, and low power consumption.
The efficacy of a 20W internally heated electric soldering iron is equivalent to that of a 40W externally heated electric soldering iron, suitable for welding small electronic components and printed circuits, and widely used in instrument maintenance.
(2) Externally heated electric soldering iron
The soldering head of an externally heated electric soldering iron is installed inside the soldering iron core, and the soldering head is made of copper alloy material with copper as the matrix.
The length of the soldering head of this type of soldering iron can be adjusted, and the shorter the soldering head, the higher the temperature of the soldering head.
There are various specifications of 25-300W power, and high-power externally heated electric soldering irons are commonly used for welding iron sheet components.
(3) Thermostatic soldering iron
The constant temperature electric soldering iron has a temperature sensor and controller. The temperature control range of the constant temperature electric soldering iron is 100-400 ℃, and the temperature of the soldering iron head can be manually changed to stop heating when the temperature of the soldering iron head reaches the set value. This not only improves the welding quality, but also extends the lifespan of the soldering iron head.
There are not many types of constant temperature electric soldering irons, and a simple temperature control circuit is installed in the soldering iron handle. The more complex structure is called a soldering table, and its soldering iron core uses PTC heating elements. After changing the set temperature, the soldering iron head can quickly reach the new set temperature.
The soldering iron head can not only adjust temperature and constant temperature, but also prevent static electricity and induction electricity, making it more suitable for soldering CMOS devices. Some products have temperature digital display, and the power is mostly 60W.
