Comparison between welding table and electric soldering iron

A soldering table is a manual tool commonly used in electronic welding processes, which heats the solder (usually referring to tin wire) and melts it, allowing two devices to be welded together.

At present, in order to protect the environment, many countries have banned the use of lead containing solder wires, which increases the welding temperature because lead-free solder wires have a higher melting point than lead-based solder wires. There are higher requirements for temperature compensation, heating up, and heating back speed of the welding station. Heating up and heating back speed are important indicators that determine production efficiency. Therefore, choosing a better welding station depends on its temperature control ability. This is the huge gap with traditional soldering irons.

There are many methods to control temperature, but the simplest one is an adjustable electric quantity control, where the welding table quickly transfers heat to the workpiece through a soldering iron to control the temperature. Another method is to use a temperature controller to control the temperature by turning on or off the power supply. Another advanced solution is to use the integrated chip to detect the temperature of the soldering head, and then adjust the power of the temperature controller to control the temperature. When the temperature of the soldering iron head is lower than the set temperature, the host is turned on to supply power to the temperature controller for heating. When the temperature of the soldering iron head is higher than the preset temperature, the host is turned off and heating stops.

The use of solder pads is very extensive, from common electronic home appliance repairs to electronic integrated circuits and chips, which are all used as soldering tools. However, they are most commonly used for soldering PCB circuit boards in electronic factories.

Comparison with electric soldering iron:

1. Efficiency comparison: The efficiency of a constant temperature welding table is relatively high, with a thermal efficiency of about 80%, and an electric soldering iron of 50% is generally good;

2. Compared to other welding methods, the energy consumption of the constant temperature welding station is relatively low. As the temperature is adjusted properly, the heating is no longer necessary, resulting in lower energy consumption. In other words, the same welding effect results in less electricity consumption for the welding station;

3. Compared to other methods, the heating speed of the welding table is faster, resulting in higher work efficiency for the corresponding workers;

4. Compared to the lifespan of consumables, the temperature of the welding table is controlled and will not increase infinitely, so the lifespan of the soldering iron head and the lifespan of the heating core are relatively high;

5. Compared to safety, the handle voltage of the welding station is only 24 volts AC, which is a safe voltage and generally does not cause electric shock;

6. Compared to static electricity prevention, the soldering station has a function of removing static electricity, but electric soldering irons generally do not have it
