Comparison of a biological microscope with a stereo microscope

The characteristics and method of use The object image under the stereo microscope is not inverted. Usually, the light shines on the specimen from obliquely above the object, so that the surface of the specimen is observed. Compared with ordinary biological microscopes, the depth of focus of stereo microscopes is larger, and larger samples can be placed, such as plant organs such as stems, leaves, flowers, etc. Observers can also perform dissection operations under the stereo microscope. Its magnification is the product of the objective lens, zoom objective lens and eyepiece. However, the objective lens is generally not used. Once the objective lens is used, the observed field of view is reduced, the depth of focus is also reduced, and the light in the field of view is also dimmed.

Features of Stereo Microscopes

1. The left and right light beams in the binocular tube are not parallel, but have a certain angle-stereoscopic viewing angle (generally 12 degrees --- 15 degrees), so the imaging has a three-dimensional sense;

2. The image is upright, which is convenient for manipulation and dissection, because the prism below the eyepiece inverts the image;

3. Long working distance and large field of view diameter.

4. The depth of focus is large, which is helpful to observe the whole layer of the object under inspection.

How to use a stereo microscope

1. According to the color of the object, select the black and white side of the workbench, put the object to be observed on the slide glass or petri dish and then put it on the workbench.

2. Select the appropriate magnification and replace the required eyepiece (10× or 20×). If you observe below 80×, you can remove the 2× large objective lens, and its effective working distance is 87mm. If you add 2× large objective lens, the magnification can reach 160×, and the effective working distance is 26mm. Adjust the working distance, you can loosen Unlocking the handwheel is achieved by pulling out or pressing in the movable strut.

3. When operating, move the object to the center of the worktable, turn the lifting handwheel, so that the left eyepiece can see a clear object image, if the image of the right eyepiece is not clear, you can turn the eyepiece focus ring to make After obtaining the same clear object image as the left eyepiece, the clear object image with three-dimensional effect has been seen like this, and the focusing work is basically completed. In order to obtain the appropriate magnification, it can be achieved by turning the magnification adjustment ring to change the magnification of the zoom objective lens. The magnification of the zoom objective can be read on the reading circle. When necessary, the right-angle prism group can be adjusted to change the distance between the eyepieces to suit the interpupillary distance above the eyes of the observer. Loosen the tightening screw, the microscope can be rotated at any position around the axis.

Stereo Microscope Technical Parameters

1. The microscope is a continuous zoom with a zoom ratio of 6.3:1

2. Objective zoom range: 0.8X—5X.

3. See the table below for the total magnification and actual field of view

4. The binocular observation tilts 45 degrees, and the adjustment range of the interpupillary distance is 52-75mm、、
