Compilation of frequently asked questions about coating thickness gauge usage

1. Why hasn't my TT230 been used for nearly a year and won't boot up when I use it again?
Answer: When users receive a newly purchased thickness gauge, they first need to charge the instrument. Generally, it takes 8 hours to charge. If the instrument battery is not charged or discharged for a long time, it is easy for the battery to lock up, and the battery life will also be affected. For a new machine that has not been used for 2 months and cannot be turned on, it is possible that the battery is locked and needs to be activated according to the instructions. If the machine still cannot be turned on, please do not open it yourself and return to the repair station for repair.

2. How to restore a locked battery?
Answer: After the battery is locked, users can refer to the corresponding model manual and perform a forced reset operation. When there is text or numerical display, they can immediately charge it. If it still cannot be restored, please contact the repair station.

3. What should I pay attention to after restoring factory settings?
Answer: After forced reset, the instrument must undergo basic calibration. The calibration method can be operated according to the instructions or consulted with the sales and maintenance personnel of the era.

4. Why does the measurement of the workpiece still show "inaccurate" after calibration on the randomly attached calibration test piece?
Answer: There are many factors that affect the measured values, which are described in detail in this manual. The properties of metal materials, surface roughness, etc. all have an impact on the measured values. The randomly attached substrate often differs greatly from the metal substrate on site by the user. Therefore, we recommend that the randomly attached substrate and test piece be used only for instrument calibration. In actual on-site measurement of workpieces, the same material that has not been sprayed on site should be used as the substrate.

5. What is the reason for the error message starting with the letter E when booting up?
Answer: The error prompt function is a unique feature of the Era Coating Thickness Gauge, which facilitates users to describe faults. Different error messages represent different faults, such as E02 representing probe wear. These instructions have detailed tables at the back for reference.
