It is mainly composed of working contacts, step-down resistors, neon bulbs, springs and other components. This electroscope uses the current to pass through the electroscope, the human body and the earth to form a loop, and its leakage current makes the neon bubble glow and work. As long as the potential difference between the charged body and the ground exceeds a certain value (below 36V), the electroscope will emit a glow, and if it is lower than the value, it will not emit light, so as to judge whether the low-voltage electrical equipment has voltage.
Before use, first check the integrity of the test pen, whether the four components are missing, and whether the neon bulb is damaged, and then verify it in a place with electricity. Only after confirming that the test pen is in good condition, can the test be performed. When using, be sure to hold the metal hook at the end of the pen cap or the tail screw, and the metal probe of the pen tip should be in contact with the live equipment. Do not touch the metal probe of the pen tip with wet hands.
In addition to being mainly used to check low-voltage electrical equipment and lines, the low-voltage electroscope can also distinguish between phase lines and zero lines, alternating current and direct current, and voltage levels. Usually, the neon bulb glows with the live wire, and the one that does not light up is the zero wire; however, pay attention when the neutral point is displaced, at this time, the neutral wire will also make the neon bulb glow; when alternating current passes through the neon bulb, both poles of the neon bulb glow. , when the direct current passes through, only one electrode is bright; when it is used to judge the voltage level, when the neon bubble is dark red slightly bright, the voltage is low; the neon bubble is yellow-red, and the voltage is high when the brightness is strong.
