Correct use of pH probe and storage method of pH meter probe. pH meter is widely used in chemical industry; thermal power generation; metallurgy; environmental protection; electrode. Calomel reference electrode and glass electrode, respectively. Generally, it needs to be stored carefully when it is not in use, otherwise it will cause a decrease in measurement accuracy and a shortened service life.
1. Calomel electrode
A. The small rubber plug on the side branch must be removed when using, otherwise it cannot play the role of ion exchange of the salt bridge. When not in use, the small rubber plug and the end rubber cap should be covered.
B. Fill the liquid level to the bend of the glass tube; keep the liquid level covered with calomel;
C. Used as a reference electrode; filled with saturated KCl solution; there should be a small amount of KCl crystals in it
2.PH glass electrode
Glass electrodes are recommended to be used within the validity period. Specifically, it is an electrode for pH indication.
3. Storage
When the pH meter is not ready for long-term use, it must be protected to ensure accuracy and service life. The specific methods are as follows:
A. The electrodes of the pH meter should be kept clean and undamaged;
B. Soak in pure water for at least a whole day (24H) before use;
C. If you need to use it frequently; rinse it and soak it in pure water after use; when it is not used for a long time;
D. When not in use for a long time, it should be soaked; take it out; dry it with filter paper; store it in a box, which can prolong the service life of the pH probe.
