Daily failure factors and solutions of the coating thickness measuring instrument
The coating thickness gauge can non-destructively measure the thickness of non-magnetic coatings (such as aluminum, chromium, copper, enamel, rubber, paint, etc.) and non-magnetic coatings on magnetic metal substrates (such as steel, iron, alloys and hard magnetic steel, etc.) The thickness of the non-conductive coating (such as enamel, rubber, paint, plastic, etc.) on the metal substrate (such as copper, aluminum, zinc, tin, etc.). So, what are the common failures of coating thickness gauges? How should we solve it? Zhuhai Tianchuang Instrument Company summarizes the following points for everyone:
1. The measurement of the instrument is inaccurate
① Please systematically calibrate the instrument first to make it fit within the error range. The error complies with ≦3% (thickness value). If more testing is required, please perform system calibration on the lubricated bare base of the workpiece to be tested (on an uncoated base).
②Please check whether the front end of the probe is worn, deformed, or has attached substances, etc., and whether the outer sheath of the probe is not level, etc. The deformation can be corrected by polishing it with sandpaper appropriately, and clean it.
③ The surface roughness of the base material of the tested part is affected, causing systematic errors and accidental errors. When measuring, increase the number of measurements at different positions to avoid accidental errors. Or use sandpaper to polish the base material to recalibrate the zero point of the instrument.
④Measurement method and probe placement. When testing, keep the probe perpendicular to the sample.
⑤The curvature of the measured piece should be recalibrated under the radius of curvature that the probe conforms to. Especially on the convex surface of the pipe, pay attention to the V-shaped groove of the probe for stable placement.
2. The instrument does not turn on
① Please check whether the battery is charged or replace it with a new one.
② Please check whether the battery is in good contact and the electrodes are not oxidized or rusted (if rusty, use tools to scrape off the oxide layer),
③ Please check whether the button can be pressed in place and the button is normally elastic.
④ If there is any other host circuit failure, please consult the company's after-sales service or return to the factory for maintenance.
3. No data changes in measurement
① Whether the probe is well connected, whether the probe is damaged, etc.
②Related host line failure,
4. The instrument cannot measure
① Check whether the probe is well connected and inserted in place.
② Check whether the probe wire is broken, focusing on the probe connector (the connector can be checked by turning the knob)
③ Frequent and large-scale use of the probe, aging or damage of the sensor, burns, etc.
