Detailed accidents when using metallographic microscopes:

(1) Be extremely cautious when operating and avoid any violent actions. It is not allowed to disassemble the optical system by yourself.

(2) It is prohibited to directly touch the glass part of the microscope lens and the sample grinding surface with your fingers. If there is dust on the lens, it will affect the clarity and resolution of the microscope. At this time, you should first blow off the dust and sand with an ear cleaning ball, and then scrub it gently with lens paper or a brush to avoid scratching the lens glass when wiping directly, which will affect the use effect.

(3) Do not plug the microscope light bulb (6~8V) directly into the 220V power socket. It should be plugged into a transformer, otherwise the light bulb will burn out immediately. The power should be turned off immediately after the observation is completed.

(4) When rotating the coarse adjustment (or fine adjustment) handwheel, move slowly. If you encounter some kind of obstruction, you should stop the operation immediately and tell the instructor to find the cause. Do not use force to force the change, otherwise the machine parts will be damaged.

Metallurgical microscope instrument protection
In order for the instrument to maintain its effective functions under normal conditions of use, in addition to the need for proper use, it is also necessary to strengthen the protection and maintenance in detail. Here are the following requirements for maintenance (for reference only).

The instrument should be stored in a dry place with good air circulation to avoid overcooling, overheating and contact with corrosive gases. It should not be stored in the same place with chemicals (except desiccants). It should be covered with a cover and wiped clean after use. When not in use, remove the sample (glass slide) in time, wipe the lens with lens cleaning paper, turn the lens into a figure-eight position, and lower the lens barrel firmly to prevent the objective lens from colliding with the lens on the light collector and causing damage. . Then put the microscope into a wooden box and place it in a dry and ventilated place. Under certain conditions, it is best to select days with good weather at certain intervals, take out the instruments and accessories from the wooden box, and conduct two or three hours of indoor exposure in a spacious, dry, well-ventilated place indoors. . After working in high-temperature weather, you should pay attention to the temperature of the storage location. If the temperature difference is large, moisture will be generated on the instrument if stored immediately after use, which may easily cause the instrument to become damp and damaged.
