Detection methods and types of gas detectors
Gas detector is one of the essential tools for safety detection that uses its own equipment system to detect toxic and harmful gases and issue warnings. The detection methods and types can be roughly divided into the following categories:
1. Electrochemical sensor
Electrochemical sensors are a common and relatively mature detection technology currently used in gas detectors to detect toxic and harmful gases. The characteristics of electrochemical sensors are small size, low power consumption, good linearity and repeatability, and long lifespan.
2. Colorimetric tube measurement technology
In addition to using toxic gas detectors, colorimetric tube technology is currently still used as a detection method for toxic and harmful gases in industrial environmental protection. The biggest advantage of this measurement method based on chemical color reactions is that it can compensate for the lack of suitable detection sensors encountered when using instruments for measurement.
3. Ionization detector
The ionization detectors currently available on the market are divided into photoionization detectors (PID) and flame ionization detectors (FID), which are commonly used toxic gas detectors in gas chromatography instruments. Separating these two sensors into instruments has become a commonly used detection method for detecting volatile organic compounds.
4. Semiconductor sensors
Toxic gas detector semiconductor sensor is a detection element made of metal oxide or metal semiconductor oxide material. Laser cutting machine can produce surface adsorption or reaction when it interacts with gas, causing changes in conductivity or volt ampere characteristics or surface potential characterized by carrier movement. It can be used to detect combustible gases at percentage concentrations, as well as toxic gases at ppm levels.
