Differences between wind hoods and anemometers

Customers often ask: Are air volume hoods and anemometers the same product? What is the difference between an anemometer and a hood?

First of all, air volume hood and anemometer are two completely different products.
First, the air volume hood is used to determine the flow through a variety of air supply outlets, diffusers, and can measure the return air volume of the instrument, mainly by the air volume hood body, the base, the support bar of three parts.

The wind volume cover body is mainly used to cover the air outlet, like a big horn to collect the wind volume, the wind will be concentrated to the average wind speed sensor on the base. There is a wind pressure sensor on the wind speed uniform, the sensor will react to the change of wind speed, and adopt the Pitot tube type principle to carry out multi-point and multi-temporal automatic detection of wind pressure, and then calculate the wind volume according to the size of the base to produce the average wind volume (m3/h). The display of the air volume hood using PDA, large screen LCD display intuitive, direct access to wind speed and wind temperature and air volume data, you can set the recording interval for continuous parameter recording, in order to analyse the data (Hongrui Technology's new air volume hood ACH-II, enter the size of the air outlet, you can automatically convert the wind speed).

Second, the anemometer is to measure wind speed as the basic function, can be widely used in heating, ventilation, air conditioning, environmental protection, meteorology, clean workshop, chemical fibre textile, a variety of wind speed laboratory and other occasions of the instrument.

The use of anemometer: 0 to 100m / s of the flow rate measurement range can be divided into three zones: low-speed: 0 to 5m / s; medium-speed: 5 to 40m / s; high speed: 40 to 100m / s. Anemometer's thermal probe is used for the 0 to 5m / s of the precise measurement; anemometer's impeller probe to measure the flow rate of 5 to 40m / s of the flow rate of the effect of the ideal; and the use of the Pitot tube can be used in the high-speed range of the good results. The Pitot tube can be used to get good results in the high speed range. An additional criterion for the correct selection of an anemometer's flow velocity probe is the temperature, which is usually ±7°C for an anemometer's thermal sensor. Specialised anemometers have impeller probes up to 35°C. Pitot tubes are used above ±35°C.

Anemometer general single-point measurement, sometimes an air outlet to measure more than one point, or even more than a dozen points, through the cross-sectional area conversion in order to derive the average wind speed, so some customers will be inclined to choose the air volume cover, but the specific choice or according to the actual environment to judge.
