Digital multimeter resistance range cannot be reset to zero

Press and hold the HOLD+RANGE keys at the same time for 10 seconds to set it to 0.

Digital multimeters are available as portable devices for basic fault diagnosis, as well as devices placed on the workbench, and some have a resolution of seven or eight digits.

Digital multimeter is an electronic instrument used in electrical measurements. It can have many special functions, but its main function is to measure voltage, resistance and current. As a modern multi-purpose electronic measuring instrument, the digital multimeter is mainly used in physics, electrical, electronic and other measurement fields.

Extended information

Safety features of digital multimeters

1. Fuse current input protection.

2. Use a high-energy fuse (600 volts or higher).

3. High voltage protection in resistance mode (500 volts or higher).

4. Voltage transient protection (6000 volts or higher).

5. Safety designed test leads, safety handles, etc.

6. Independent safety certification.

The ohm switch of the multimeter is broken, how to repair it?
1. The first is to measure the resistance directly, let’s talk about the traditional multimeter first. Set the pointer to the position shown in the picture (ohm position Ω). This is the position used to measure resistance.

2. The starting position 0 of the current and voltage readings is on the left, while the starting position 0 of the resistance is on the right. Find the reading dial line of the resistance. The reading will be read from here later.

3. Connect the two pen tips of the multimeter and check whether the pointer points to the 0 position. If the multimeter does not have a mechanical adjustment, turn it to zero (if it cannot be adjusted to 0, the battery is dead)

4. Place the two pen tips on both ends of the resistor to measure the reading. What is read at this time is the resistance value of the resistor. This method cannot measure inductance resistance. Resistance value = gear × reading. For example, if the gear is 100Ω and the reading is 30, then it is 3K ohms.

5. The digital one is simpler, just set the gear to the ohm level and read the value.
