Digital multimeters with high precision for demanding applications
Engineers can now use NI (National Instruments, National Instruments) multi-function device - PXI-4071 FlexDMM to accurately complete the measurement task, the signal range from picoampere to kilovolt, the product features include 7½ digits (26 bits ) function of digital multimeter and 1.8 MS/s digitizer with isolation. The NI PXI-4071 FlexDMM enables you to accurately measure voltages from ±10 nV to ±1000 V and resistances from 10 µW to 5 GW. It also uses a solid-state circuit shunt construction to provide 8 DC measurement ranges from 1 µA to 3 A and 6 AC measurement ranges from 100 µA to 3 A. Such capabilities allow engineers to gain enough flexibility, versatility, and isolation to adequately handle challenging applications such as fuel cell testing, leak measurement, value-added curve tracking, converter linear data test).
The FlexDMM is the most accurate digital multimeter for the PXI platform, with a DC readout rate of 7 S/s at 7½-digit accuracy. For higher throughput needs, the FlexDMM provides a DC reading rate of up to 10 kS/s (4½-digit accuracy), which is five times faster than conventional DMMs using the General Purpose Bus Interface (GPIB). When using digitizer mode with isolation, the FlexDMM is capable of continuous waveform acquisition on all voltage and current ranges at a maximum sampling rate of 1.8 MS/s. With built-in isolation, engineers can measure differential waveforms with a common-mode voltage of 500 volts (such as fuel cell stack testing). By varying the digitizer's sampling rate, engineers can also vary the digitizer's resolution from 10 to 23 bits. Using the FlexDMM in isolated digitizer mode using the NI LabVIEW graphical programming environment, engineers can simultaneously analyze transient, inverted signals, and various other nonperiodic high-voltage DC waveforms at different clocks and frequencies.
Engineers can quickly increase the channel count of the FlexDMM by integrating the FlexDMM system with NI switch modules such as the NI PXI-2532 512-crossover high-density matrix. Engineers can combine the FlexDMM with NI switch modules and NI Switch Executive switch management software to measure thousands of channels with a single multimeter. The NI PXI-4071 FlexDMM includes NI-DMM driver software for NI LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI, and Microsoft Visual Studio .NET.
