Do Gas Detectors need to get calibrated and tested on a regular basis?

For the accuracy and safety of use, you need to regularly calibrate and verify the gas detector. The core component of a gas detector is the sensor, and the lifespan of the sensor starts counting down from its first day of production. Even if you don't use a gas detector, it still requires calibration and inspection or replacement of the sensor within three months, six months, or a year. In addition, all gas detectors use relative measurement methods, so they require timely maintenance and calibration. Only by calibrating according to the manufacturer's requirements at any time can the expected accurate results be obtained. There are national metrology institutes and after-sales service departments of manufacturers in China where such calibration can be carried out. The reports issued by them may be different, but they can all ensure the normal operation of the instrument.

In addition, to ensure the accuracy of the gas detector and extend its service life, we also need to pay attention to the following issues when using the gas detector.

1. Portable gas detectors should be used reasonably, constantly detecting any abnormalities in the components. If there are any abnormalities, they should be repaired or replaced in a timely manner to ensure their normal use.

2. The gas detector is an explosion-proof device and cannot be used beyond the specified range.
