Four common faults of electric soldering irons

1. No heating after power on

If the electric soldering iron does not generate heat after being powered on, it indicates that there is an open circuit fault in the soldering iron, and the fault point is not fixed, which may be scattered in multiple places, such as at the plug of the soldering iron, the soldering iron core is broken, the lead of the soldering iron core is open, and the power line of the soldering iron is open.

2. Solder tip does not eat tin

The soldering iron head does not eat tin, and if a newly purchased soldering iron head is used without trimming, it will result in the soldering iron head not being tinned. The soldering iron head that has been used for a long time cannot be soldered, and the soldering iron head is burnt out, requiring repair.

3. Electric soldering iron charged

Electrification of electric soldering iron is very dangerous for welding personnel, and in severe cases, it can lead to electric shock accidents.

When the electric soldering iron is found to be electrified, the power supply shall be cut off immediately and then the inspection shall be carried out.

There are several reasons why electric soldering irons are electrified. The power cord is connected to the terminal of the grounding wire, and the power cord falls off the terminal of the soldering iron core and touches the screw of the grounding wire, causing the live power lead of the soldering iron head to wrap and cause leakage, as well as the leakage of the power ground wire itself.

4. Dents appear on the soldering iron head

After using an electric soldering iron for a period of time, there may be pits or oxidation corrosion layers on the soldering iron tip, causing changes in the shape of the soldering iron tip's edge.

Solution: Use a file to remove the oxide layer and pits, file them into their original shape, and then tin them to restore use
