Gas detectors are widely used in the production industry

The current application field of gas detection technology is becoming increasingly broad, not only requiring it to surpass other detection products in terms of technology, but also gradually becoming lightweight in use and operation. Portable gas detectors are too large and inconvenient to use. In order to facilitate portability and use, portable gas detectors are becoming increasingly perfect. Portable gas detectors are also clearly classified into two types: pump suction and diffusion.

Most sensors in gas detectors have a service life, generally speaking, electrochemical sensors have a lifespan of two to three years, oxygen sensors have a lifespan of one to two years, catalytic combustion sensors have a lifespan of about three years, and infrared/semiconductor and photoionization sensors have a lifespan of about three to five years. At the same time, these parameters are also closely related to the usage environment. When used in environments with continuously high environmental concentrations or frequent alarms, the lifespan of the sensor will be shortened to a certain extent.

Therefore, if higher gas detection selectivity is required in practical analysis, or if accurate concentration data of a certain gas is needed, laboratory analytical instruments must be used. There are many analytical instruments used for gas concentration measurement, such as Fourier transform infrared gas chromatography and mass spectrometry, which can provide the most accurate and selective gas concentration data, Of course, due to the high cost of maintenance, long response time, large volume, cumbersome operation, and inability to timely reflect on-site concentration, these devices are not suitable for on-site gas monitoring. They are mostly used as laboratory gas detection instruments, and the data obtained through these analytical methods can serve as a basis for evaluating gas hazard results.

Nevertheless, the most mature and widely used gas sensing technology is still playing an increasingly important role in daily production safety, environmental protection, occupational protection, and other aspects. After using analytical techniques to obtain accurate concentrations of toxic and harmful gases in the environment, the use of these on-site detection techniques can achieve the goal of rapid on-site detection. Therefore, it can be said that it is these simple and reliable detection methods that can make gas concentration detection penetrate into various aspects of our lives and work.
