Here is a detailed description of how to use a multimeter to measure the positive and negative poles of a diode.

1. I can't see clearly the specific model of your multimeter;

2. For ordinary digital multimeters, the measured voltage at the diode setting is less than 2V, and what you are measuring is P6KE36, which is a bidirectional diode. For this kind of diode, the voltage at the diode setting of the multimeter must be at least 6V before it can be measured, and the general The diode range of a digital multimeter cannot reach this voltage at all;

3. To put it simply, it is only possible to measure this diode when the voltage between the two test leads of the diode range is above 6V, and your multimeter cannot meet this requirement at all;

4. To use your multimeter to measure this diode, you must use a regulated power supply with a voltage exceeding 10V, connect a resistor in series, and then connect it in series with the diode to measure whether it is good or bad;

5. As for the resistance and power of the resistor in series, it must be determined based on the normal operating current of your diode. I cannot give you a specific calculation here.

6. Because the voltage of the diode range of your multimeter does not meet the requirements, the forward and reverse measurements are ineffective, but this does not prove that the bidirectional diode is broken.

7. To put it simply, this kind of diode cannot be measured directly with the diode setting of a multimeter.

What is the value measured by the diode block of the digital multimeter on the rectifier diode?
Use the diode mode of the digital multimeter, insert the red test lead into the VΩ hole and insert the black test lead into the COM hole. We know that in the digital multimeter, the red test lead contacts the positive electrode of the internal battery, and the black test lead contacts the negative electrode of the internal battery. In the analog multimeter, the electrical barrier is that the red test lead contacts the internal battery. Connect the negative electrode of the battery and the black test lead to the positive electrode of the internal battery. Touch the red test lead of the digital multimeter to the positive electrode of the diode and the black test lead to the negative electrode of the diode. (Measure the forward resistance value) The normal value is 300-600Ω. Then touch the red test lead to the negative electrode of the diode and the black test lead to the positive electrode of the diode. (Measure the reverse resistance value), the normal value is "1". If both measurements display 001 or 000 and the buzzer sounds, it means that the diode has broken down. If the forward and reverse resistance values measured twice are both "1" It means that the diode is open circuit. If the two measured values are similar, it means that the quality of the tube is very poor. The reverse resistance value must be "1" or more than 1000, and the forward resistance value must be 300-600Ω. Then the diode is good.
