How gas detectors are used in the mining industry

Every year there will be mining accidents, the dangers of underground work are obvious to all of us, but in order to develop resources, underground work can not be avoided, so that we must be prepared in the safety settings, gas detector is one of them, we need to apply the gas detector to analyse the distribution of the air in the underground before we can start normal work. Gas detector in the underground application is crucial!

Gas detector, is to detect the gas composition and concentration of the sensor, for some hidden ** hidden danger of the work (mine), etc., greatly reducing part of the possible mining accidents.

On the development and application of gas detectors, the U.S. National Institute of Occupational and Health and the U.S. National Institute of Occupational and Health Bureau of published studies, have shown that many fatal confined space accidents are related to the gas composition of the space where they are located. These hazardous components can either be present before workers enter a confined space or can be formed as a result of their activities in the space. The vast majority of accidents occur due to a lack of detection of hazardous gases before workers enter the confined space and during their work in it. All these studies show the importance of hazardous gas detectors at all stages involving confined space entry.

The gas composition in mines represents a wide range of hazardous conditions, where toxic gases are encountered such as carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxides, sulphur dioxide, etc., as well as oxygen deficiencies. In some cases, methane may also reach explosive concentrations. Since methane has no warning properties, it can build up to concentrations that are immediately explosive before workers realise that a hazard has occurred. The presence of any ignition source, such as a worker's miner's lamp, can cause an explosion.
