How to choose a gas detector for a variety of environments
Different working environments in life have different needs for gas detection. It is necessary to choose a suitable and correct gas detector. This is something that everyone engaged in safety and health work should pay attention to. So, how to correctly choose and use detectors in different environments? Mainly used in the following two environments:
1. Open or development site
If the instrument is used as a safety alarm in an open workshop, a diffusion gas detector can be used because it can continuously, instantly and accurately display the concentration of harmful gases on site.
2. Similar closed or confined venues
For example, workplaces such as reactors, storage tanks or vessels, sewers or other underground pipelines, underground facilities, agricultural enclosed granaries, railway tank cars, cargo holds, tunnels, etc. must be inspected before personnel enter and inspected outside the enclosed space. At this time, a multi-gas detector with a built-in sampling pump must be selected. Because the gas distribution and gas types in different parts of the enclosed space (upper, middle, lower) are very different. Therefore, a complete closed space gas detector should be a portable instrument with a built-in pumping function, easy for non-contact, and a multi-gas detection function for detecting hazardous gases distributed in different spaces, including inorganic gases and organic gases. It has oxygen detection function to avoid lack of oxygen or small size, and does not affect the work of workers. Only in this way can the absolute safety of workers entering enclosed spaces be ensured. It can be seen that when using gas detectors in different environments, you must pay attention to the usage method, not only to ensure safe work, but also to better make correct analysis and detection reports.
