How to choose a pH meter?
When we purchase a pH meter, we must first consider the application, choose a pen-type pH meter, a portable pH meter, a desktop pH meter or an industrial pH meter; secondly, consider the accuracy required for measurement, and choose the accuracy that suits your use.
pH meters are widely used in fields such as industry, electric power, agriculture, medicine, food, scientific research and environmental protection. The instrument is also an essential inspection equipment for QS and HACCP certification in food factories and drinking water factories.
We need to consider the following points when choosing an acidity meter:
1. According to the classification of the application, it can be divided into: pen type pH meter, portable pH meter, laboratory pH meter and industrial pH meter, etc. The pen-type pH meter is mainly used to replace the function of pH test paper, and has the characteristics of low precision and convenient use.
Portable pH meters are mainly used for on-site and field measurements, requiring high precision and perfect functions.
The laboratory pH meter is a desktop high-precision analytical instrument that requires high precision and full functions, including printout, data processing, etc.
Industrial pH meters are used for continuous measurement of industrial processes, not only have measurement display functions, but also alarm and control functions, as well as installation, cleaning, anti-interference and other considerations.
2. Classification according to the accuracy of the pH meter: it can be divided into 0.2, 0.1, 0.05, and 0.01. The smaller the number, the higher the accuracy.
3. Classification according to the type of components: it can be divided into transistor type, integrated circuit type and single-chip microcomputer type. Now more microcomputer chips are used, which greatly reduces the size of the instrument and the cost of a single machine; but the development cost of the chip is very expensive.
4. According to the classification of reading indication: it can be divided into two types: pointer type and digital display type. Pointer pH meters are rarely used now, but pointer meters can display the continuous change process of data, so they are still used in titration analysis.
5. Check if the pH meter has additional functions, for example, it has a standard RS232 interface, and another important thing is whether the temperature compensation is automatic or manual. The pH meter with automatic temperature compensation is more convenient than the pH meter with manual temperature compensation. You can see the price between the two.
