How to determine the number of pH meter calibrations?

The number of pH meter calibrations depends on the sample, electrode performance and measurement accuracy requirements. High-precision measurement (≤±0.03pH) should be calibrated in time. General accuracy measurement (≤±0.1pH), it can be used continuously for a week or more after one calibration. In addition, you can first test a standard buffer solution that is closer to the solution being tested, and determine whether recalibration is needed based on the size of the error. The instrument must be recalibrated under the following circumstances:

⑴Electrodes that have not been used for a long time and newly replaced electrodes.

⑵After measuring concentrated acid (pH<2), or after measuring concentrated alkali (pH>12).

⑶After measuring solutions containing fluoride and relatively concentrated organic solutions.

⑷When the temperature of the measured solution is too different from the temperature during calibration.

What is a pH transmitter? What is it used for?
A pH transmitter is a pH meter suitable for use in industrial processes. One end of it is connected to the industrial pH electrode, converting the measured potential of the pH electrode into a standard signal output of 1~5V or 4~20mA. This signal can be input to the pH controller or the computer control center, and can be programmed through the computer to achieve pH alarm and control purposes. The pH transmitter is also made into a display type. On the one hand, it displays the measurement data and at the same time outputs a standard signal. Since the output signal is low resistance, the output distance can be tens to hundreds of meters.

How often should pH meter electrodes be calibrated?
The calibration time of the online pH meter electrode depends on the respective processes on site. The more stable the on-site process conditions (temperature, pressure, composition, absence of dirt, etc.), the more stable the online pH meter measurement and the longer the correction interval.

Generally speaking, most online pH meter electrodes are calibrated once every month or month. Longer or shorter calibration intervals are also possible depending on the actual situation on site. Under the premise of ensuring the accuracy of pH calibration, it is best to calibrate more frequently at first, and then slowly extend the calibration interval.
