The method of distinguishing between the live wire and the neutral wire of the digital multimeter is as follows:
Step 1: Prepare AC power, digital multimeter, electric pen
Turn the digital multimeter to the AC (700V) range.
Step 2: Wrap the black test pen around the left hand two or three times (special attention: the tip of the test pen should not touch your hand, it may cause an electric shock)
Touch the red test lead to any of the unknown zero/live wires. As shown in the figure below, the multimeter shows the value as HV009 (left side)
Step 3: Follow the same steps as Step 2 - the black test pen is wrapped around the left hand two or three times (special attention: the tip of the test pen should not touch the hand, it may cause an electric shock)
Touch the red test lead to the other of the unknown zero/live wire. The value displayed by the multimeter is as follows: HV056 (right side)
Step 4: Use the electric pen to insert any contact of the zero/live wire to check (left side)
The pen didn't light up.
Step 5: Step 4: Use an electric pen to insert the other contact of the zero/fire wire. to check (right)
The pen lights up.
It can be concluded that when the digital multimeter AC AC 700V file is used to distinguish and measure the zero live wire.
