How to judge the quality of quartz crystal with digital multimeter
Using a digital multimeter to test a quartz crystal is fast and accurate. The method is as follows:
Step 1: Set the digital multimeter to 20MΩ, and check the quartz crystal for leakage and short circuit according to the conventional method.
Step 2: Turn the digital multimeter to the CAP: 2000pF position, insert the tested quartz crystal into the CX test hole, and the following readings will appear:
①If the box capacitance CO value of the quartz crystal on the side is much smaller than the normal value (compared with the original measured normal quartz crystal, or compared with the data provided by the manufacturer), or even OpF, it means that the measured crystal leads to There is an open circuit fault inside the pole, or the crystal plate is broken. If the deviation value of the box capacitance CO is measured, it indicates that the crystal under test is leaking or short-circuited.
② If the measured capacitance value of the quartz crystal exceeds "1", it means that the measured crystal is leaking or short circuited.
③ If the measured capacitance value is unstable, it means that the lead electrode of the quartz crystal is not in good contact or the crystal is falling off.
