How to keep the stream of light in the microscope clear

The optical path of an Olympus microscope includes eyepieces, objective lenses, upper or lower light sources, and light boxes. An optical path system composed of several parts, if one of them fails, the whole system will not be able to work. Let me give you a brief explanation of how to ensure the clarity of the optical path of the Olympus microscope!

1: The surface lens of the eyepiece and objective lens is most likely to be contaminated by dust, dirt and oil. When the contrast and clarity are found to be reduced, and fog occurs, it is necessary to carefully check the condition of the eyepiece and the lens in front of the objective lens with a magnifying glass.

2: It is very important to ensure the optical performance of the Olympus microscope. When the microscope is not in use, the microscope should be covered with the dust cover provided by the instrument. If there is dust and dirt on the optical surface and instruments, blow the dust with a balloon or use a soft brush to remove the dirt before wiping the surface.

3: The optical surface should be cleaned with a lint-free cotton cloth, lens tissue or a cotton swab moistened with a special lens cleaning solution. Avoid using too much solvent when cleaning. The lens cleaning paper or cotton swab should be properly moistened with solvent, but do not use too much solvent to penetrate into the objective lens, resulting in decreased clarity of the objective lens and damage to the objective lens.

4: The low magnification objective lens has a fairly large front group lens, which can be wiped with a cotton cloth or cotton swab wrapped around a finger and lens cleaning paper moistened with ethanol. 40X and 100X need to be carefully checked with a magnifying glass. In order to achieve high flatness in the high-power lens, a front group lens with a small radius of curvature concave surface is applied. When wiping this group of lenses, use a toothpick or cotton swab with a cotton ball to clean it. Wipe the lens surface lightly. Avoid excessive force and scratching movements, and make sure you touch the concave surface of the lens with your front. After cleaning, use a magnifying glass to check whether the objective lens is damaged. If you have to open the observation lens barrel, be careful not to touch the exposed lens under the lens barrel. If there are fingerprints on the surface of the lens, it will reduce the clarity of the image. Clean the objective lens and eyepiece method to wipe.
