How to read the pointer multimeter in detail
The digital multimeter has intuitive readings, high accuracy, rich functions, and little impact on the circuit. However, the digital multimeter uses instantaneous sampling, so sometimes the number jumps.
Although the accuracy of the pointer multimeter is not high, it can intuitively reflect the change of the resistance value of the measured object, and it has a strong ability to withstand interference.
Now there are still many electrician friends who like to use pointer multimeters, especially some old electricians have a unique love for pointer multimeters; and basically use pointer multimeters for electrician teaching and research.
It can be seen from the dial that:
The letter "Ω" is marked on the first row of scale lines, indicating that the measurement results of the scale lines are in "Ω", so the first row is the resistance scale line. Here we should pay attention: the far left of the resistance scale line is "∞", which means infinity; the far right is 0, so the reading is from right to left when measuring resistance.
The second row of scale marks are marked with DCV, ACV. Among them, DC means direct current, and V is the unit of voltage. If they are combined together, DCV means direct current voltage. Similarly, AC means AC and V is the unit of voltage, so ACV means AC voltage. DCmA is also marked on the far right of the second row of scale lines, where DC means direct current and mA is the unit of current. If they are combined together, DCmA means direct current. Then the second row of scale lines has three groups of functions, namely measuring AC, DC voltage, and DC current.
The third row of red scale lines, marked with oil AC10V on the red scale line, indicates that the scale line is dedicated to AC 10V. Only when the gear of the multimeter is placed on AC 10V, the scale line can be seen.
The fourth row of blue tick marks, on which a C (uF) is marked. Among them, C represents capacitance, and uF represents the unit "microfarad" of capacitance. Explain that the scale line is used to measure capacitance, and the reading is in microfarads.
The fifth row is also a blue tick mark, it is marked hFE. Where hFE represents the magnification of the triode, then the scale line is used to measure the magnification of the triode.
The two rows of BATT are used to measure the battery power. The pointer in the red area means no power, the blue area means sufficient power, and the question mark area means the battery is about to run out.
The last row of dB is used to measure the level.
