How to set the emissivity parameter of infrared temperature measurement?
When using an infrared thermometer for temperature measurement, it must be ensured that the emissivity of the thermometer is set correctly, otherwise inaccurate temperature measurement results will be obtained.
It can be seen that the emissivity is a very important indicator of infrared temperature measurement.
How to correctly set the emissivity parameters of infrared temperature measurement?
What is emissivity? Emissivity is the ratio of the energy radiated by the target surface to the energy radiated by the black body at the same temperature;
It is determined by the material of the object itself, e.g. plastic has an emissivity of 0.95, ice has an emissivity of 0.98, basalt has an emissivity of 0.7 and so on.
In this case, in order to get the correct temperature measurement results, we should use an infrared thermometer to measure the temperature;
The emissivity parameter should be set according to the material of the target to be measured. How to set the emissivity parameter of the infrared thermometer?
There are three main methods.
1. Coloring method.
This method is mainly to paint the target surface black, set the emissivity of the thermometer to 0.97 (0.93) of the black paint (or black tape), and then measure the temperature of the black part T1 with an infrared thermometer;
Then use an infrared thermometer to measure the surface temperature T2 of the part adjacent to the black part, adjust the emissivity value of the infrared thermometer to make T2* close to T1, and the emissivity value obtained at this time is the emissivity of the measured target.
2. Comparison method.
Find a contact temperature probe, measure the temperature of the target surface, and adjust the emissivity of the infrared thermometer after the temperature is stable;
Make the temperature measured by the infrared thermometer consistent with the temperature measured by the contact thermometer, and the emissivity at this time is the emissivity of the measured target.
3. Look-up table method.
According to the emissivity table provided in the operation manual or related documents, according to the material of the tested target, find the corresponding emissivity value and set it.
You can set the emissivity of the infrared thermometer according to the actual situation to obtain accurate measurement results.
