How to use a low magnification microscope

(1) Picking up and placing the mirror: the microscope is usually stored in a cabinet or box, and when it is used, take it out of the cabinet, hold the mirror arm tightly with the right hand, hold the mirror base with the left hand, and place the microscope on the laboratory table in front of your left shoulder. The rear end should be 1-2 inches from the edge of the table, which is convenient for sitting and operating.

(2) Aiming at the light: use the thumb and middle finger to move the rotator (do not move the objective lens by hand), so that the low power lens is aligned with the light hole of the stage (when the sound of knocking is heard when rotating, it means that the optical axis of the objective lens has been aligned with the lens barrel) Center). Open the aperture, raise the light collector, and turn the reflector to the light source, observe on the eyepiece with the left eye (open the right eye), and adjust the direction of the reflector at the same time until the light in the field of view is uniform and bright.

(3) Place the slide specimen: take a slide specimen and put it on the mirror stage, make sure that the side with the cover glass faces up, and never put it upside down, clamp it with the spring clip of the slide pusher, and then rotate the slide pusher screw , Adjust the part to be observed to the center of the light hole.

(4) Adjust the focal length: use the left hand to turn the coarse adjuster counterclockwise, so that the stage slowly rises to a place where the objective lens is about 5 mm away from the specimen. It should be noted that when the stage is raised, do not observe on the eyepiece. Be sure to start from the right side Watch the stage rise, so as not to rise too much, causing damage to the lens or specimen sheet. Then, open both eyes at the same time, observe on the eyepiece with the left eye, and slowly turn the coarse regulator clockwise with the left hand to make the stage drop slowly until until a clear object appears in the field of vision.

If the object image is not in the center of the field of view, you can adjust the pusher to adjust it to the center (note that the direction of moving the glass slide is opposite to the direction of the object image in the field of view). If the brightness in the field of view is not suitable, you can adjust the position of the light collector Or open and close the size of the aperture to adjust, if when adjusting the focal length, the lens stage has dropped beyond the working distance (>5.40mm) and no object is seen, it means that the operation failed, and you should re-operate, and you must not rush up blindly Mirror stand.
