Household digital multimeters can easily detect voltage, current, resistance, diodes, etc., and some multimeters can also directly detect battery power, which is very convenient. Today is a multimeter that does not have a direct battery detection function. We use the voltage detection gear to detect the battery level.


In order to detect the battery voltage, connect the red detection pen of the multimeter to the VΩvA file, where V represents the voltage detection; the black pen is connected to the COM file.


Let's look at the battery again. The nominal voltage of the general No. 5 dry battery is 1.5V, and the nominal voltage of the rechargeable battery is 1.2V.


Therefore, when the multimeter is turned to the voltage detection gear, it can be directly turned to 2000mV, which is the maximum detection 2V.


Then the multimeter detects that the pointer end of the pen is in contact with the battery. Remember that the red pen is connected to the positive end, which is the protruding end, and the black pen is connected to the negative end, which is the flat end.


It can be seen that the battery voltage is 1531mv, which is 1.53V, and the power is still very sufficient. Generally below 1V may not be able to drive electric toys, alarm clocks, remote controls and the like.

Then measure the voltage of the rechargeable battery. The rechargeable battery is nominally 1.2V, and the measured value is 1.26V, and the power is still sufficient.

There is also a multimeter that can directly measure the battery. You can directly set the measurement position of the multimeter to the battery position, and the red pen is connected to the positive pole of the battery, and the black pen is connected to the negative pole of the battery.
