Step 1: Turn down the prism opening/closing handle to the main prism, then turn the handle to the left to fully open the prism, wipe the main prism and prism surface, drop a small drop of distilled water on the main prism, and gently close the prism.
Step 2: Connect the constant temperature circulating water bath and set the temperature to 20°C. Observe on the eyepiece and adjust the measuring knob so that the upper reading screen reads around 1.3330.
Step 3: Observe the refractive screen at the lower end again, you can see the color dividing line near the intersection line. Adjust the color compensation knob to eliminate color, and stop adjusting when the dividing line becomes neither red nor blue. Since the red edge is just above the dividing line and the blue edge is below, the absence of both red and blue at the midpoint indicates that the color is fully compensated.
Step 4: Adjust the measurement knob so that the dividing line is exactly at the intersection point, then remove the cap of the correction part and adjust the correction screw counterclockwise, using an Allen wrench.
