How to use DC regulated power supply correctly?
The first step is to connect the power supply. Connect the regulated power supply to the mains supply.
The output voltage must be set in the third step. To finish the voltage setting, turn the voltage setting knob on the digital voltmeter to see the desired voltage displayed. Two sets of adjustment methods are available for power supplies with adjustable current limit functions, such as PMC 18-2A, to modify the voltage and current limit, respectively. When you adjust, be sure to make a distinction. Typically, the words "VOLTAGE" and "CURRENT" are seen on potentiometers that regulate voltage and current limit, respectively. The PMC 18-2A has a single voltage adjustment knob since it employs a multi-turn potentiometer. Low-cost twin knob settings for coarse/fine adjustment are found in many entry-level items. When faced with two adjustment knobs, we spin the coarse adjustment knob to establish the estimated voltage first, then use the fine adjustment knob for accurate correction. First, we turn the fine adjustment knob to the middle position.
Setting the current limiting current is the fourth stage. On the power panel, press and hold the "Limit" button. The ammeter will now show the value of the current limit. To get the current limit value to the desired level, turn the current limit knob. Typically, it is possible to set the current limit at 120% of the maximum current that is frequently used. There may be power supply without a specific key for adjusting the current limit. Users must follow the instructions to short-circuit the output terminal. After that, they must adjust the current limit level based on the current limit knob and the short-circuit current. There is no comparable knob or current limit adjustment feature on the basic adjustable regulated power supply.
Setting the overvoltage protection (OVP) is the sixth step. In order to stop the power supply from producing excessive voltage when it malfunctions, overvoltage setting refers to further restricting an upper limit voltage within the power supply's adjustable voltage range. Typically, 120% of the typical maximum working voltage can be used to set the overvoltage. The recessed potentiometer in the panel needs to be adjusted with a flat-blade screwdriver to compensate for overvoltage. This design also aims to avoid malfunctions. To precisely configure the OVP voltage of PMC 18-2A, first set the operating voltage of the power supply to the desired overvoltage point. Then, gradually adjust the OVP potentiometer to achieve the desired power supply protection. At this time, the OVP setting is completed. Then, turn off the power, reduce the operating voltage, and it will work normally. To set the working voltage, refer to step 3 above. Different power settings have different OVP methods. For example, Kikusui PAK series power supplies have a dedicated OVP setting key. Pressing the OVP key displays the maximum voltage limit. Users can quickly check the voltage limit value and adjust the pressure limit level. For some entry-level power supplies, there is no OVP function. Shenzhen DC regulated power supply price The second step is to turn on the power. When no load is connected, press the main switch (power) of the power supply, and then turn on the DC output switch (output) of the power supply to make the power supply output work normally (some simple adjustable regulated power supplies only have a main power switch and no independent DC output switch). At this time, the current working voltage and output current are displayed on the power digital indicator meter.
